Origins Today: Genesis through Ancient Eyes

Have you ever wondered what the ancient civilizations thought of the Hebrew creation story? It offered sharp contrasts to the currently-circulating pagan stories regarding the value of humans and their relationship to their God.  We invite you to learn more by joining us for ďOrigins Today: Genesis through Ancient Eyes,Ē on Sundays, January 7, January 14, and January 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fireside Lounge.  Dr. Bill Roundy will be the facilitator for this class.

TPC Annual Congregational Meeting

The annual meeting of the congregation will be held on Sunday, January 28, following the worship service, in the Fellowship Hall.  This is a time when we review and celebrate the activities of the church in 2017, remember those who passed on to eternal life during the past year, and look forward to what will happen in 2018.

New Theological Seminary of the West Classes

The New Theological Seminary of the West will be offering a ten-week course on Monday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., beginning September 25, at TPC. The full course name is The Whole Bible for the Whole Church Part Two: Introduction to the New Testament.

Also, another course, Worship: The Work of the People, will be offered at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana, which is located at 600 N. Main St., on Saturdays, beginning on January 27, from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

These courses are open to everyone. You donít need to be a seminary student to take part.  If you are interested in either of these courses, you can contact Brian Symonds, Director of Admissions, by telephone at (562)674-8407 or by email at, or you can talk to Jerry Herter.

Souper Bowl Sunday

Get ready for the Super Bowl by tackling hunger in our area.  Before church on Sunday, January 28, the youth will be in the courtyard taking canned food and monetary donations.  (NOTE: The collection is taking place the week before the actual Super Bowl because the youth will be at their Winter Retreat on the real Super Bowl Sunday.)  There will be two collection areas, one for each team participating.  Let's see who TPC is rooting for in the Super Bowl, but more importantly, letís see how much we can help members of our communities to make ends meet.  Donations will benefit the food pantries of Family Promise, Families Forward and the Santa Ana First Presbyterian Church.
