New Easter Banner

The Worship Committee asked Helen Boggs to make an Easter Banner.  She was happy to take on this project as she had just purchased a new sewing machine.  Her original design incorporated lilies, which are associated with the resurrection of Christ and represent purity, hope and new birth.  The symbol is a continuous unbroken line, representing the eternal nature of God, a variation of the Celtic Cross.  Her right hand man, Gary Boggs, helped with the assembly of the projectThank you, Helen and Gary!

Summer Sundays at TPC

This summer, we slowed things down and had fun being together at our Summer Sundays events.

A good time was had by all at our second Summer Sunday at TPC which was held on, Sunday July 17.  “Wreck It Ralph” was the Disney movie that was watched by all!  We even had a real life visit from Vanellope, one of the movie’s characters.  Yummy movie concession stand foods were enjoyed by all.  It’s not often you get to have red licorice and hotdogs for dinner!  Lots of other goodies were available as well.  The mission project for Summer Sundays was introduced: Laurel House.  A list of items was provided to help people decide what they might like to purchase to donate to Laurel House.  The list will be available at the Summer Sundays Table in the patio after the worship service if you would like donate.  Thanks go to Pastor Steve for his introduction of the movie.  Also, many thanks go to the people behind the scenes: Brenda Benjamin, Soccoro Ching, Jennifer King and Jennifer May.

Our final Summer Sunday, held on August 21, was a wonderful multigenerational Country Fair complete with face painting, carnival games, and tasty fair food. The TPC Puppeteers provided entertainment with special music and the debut performance of "Being Neighborly", an original play by TPC's own Loretta Herter. We were thrilled to welcome many new faces to our fellowship and fun. The evening was appropriately concluded with the arrival of our Family Promise guests who joined us for dinner and an encore performance of the special music by the Puppeteers.

Thank you to Erika Arendts, Brenda Benjamin, Socorro Ching and Paul Lalande, Tarry Goeden, Jennifer King, Jennifer May, and Barbara Murphy for their tremendous help making our Summer Sundays possible. Thank you to Loretta Herter, playwright, and the TPC Puppeteers for their special presentation at this final event.

Enjoy these videos of the Summer Sunday events on June 19, July 17 and August 21.
