Meet Emily Fuentes
If you would remember, when the three-year plan was unveiled, one of the goals was to establish and fill a full-time position that would focus on building up our youth program and helping us design and implement an alternative style worship service. We knew this was a big step of faith, but God provided a special gift that would allow us to supplement what we pay our part-time Youth Director for two years. This would enable us to grow into the position, financially speaking. When Ashley stepped away, we began our search and God has led Emily Fuentes to us.
Emily Fuentes comes from a background of non-profit leadership, marketing and youth education/programming. She and her husband will be married for 10 years this June and have two daughters, Ruby (4) and Jade (2). Emily loves to travel and has been to 49 of the 50 states and countries like Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Turkey and several others. She is excited to join Tustin Presbyterian Church and looks forward to connecting with each of you!
As you can see, Emily brings to us (in her own words) “a wonderful blend of my new-found passion for ministry, a minor degree in religion and my experience working with youth.” She has also worked extensively with some major non-profit groups with program development and communications. We are excited that God has brought us together, and I trust that you will take the time to welcome her as we set out on this path that God has set before us.
As Emily joins us, we will say goodbye to our Interim Youth Director, Laura Van Druten, who will be moving on. We are grateful for the love and care she has shown our youth through this transitional time, and we wish her God’s blessings as she follows God’s call on her life. We will have the opportunity to say goodbye to her on February 24. Please thank her for all she has done for TPC. Please pray for Emily as she joins us and Laura as she follows God’s call on her life as well.
